The Costa del Sol's most popular day trip — clifftop bridge, old town and wine.
Ronda sits about 100 km inland from Málaga, roughly a 1.5–2 hour drive up into the mountains, which makes it one of the most popular day trips on the Costa del Sol. The town is split in two by the El Tajo gorge and joined by the Puente Nuevo, an 18th-century bridge that plunges nearly 100 metres to the river below.
Start at the Puente Nuevo for the classic view, then wander the old Moorish quarter, the Plaza de Toros — one of Spain's oldest bullrings — and the cliff-edge Alameda gardens. It's an easy town to explore on foot, and half a day is enough to see the highlights before a long lunch.
